COMPANY UPDATE – COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS)

With the continued presence of COVID-19 in many communities, Cameron would like to provide an update on the processes and procedures we have put in place to help protect our employees, the business and the wider community.

COVID-19 Response Management Team

A designated COVID-19 Response Management Team (RMT) was established in March 2020, based at Head Office, which oversees communications, incident reporting and management.  A hotline and email address centralises all announcements/updates, and contact details are posted on Cameron’s Intranet homepage and on a dedicated page on Cameron’s website.

We conduct formal status calls with all operational and administration sites as necessary each week to update the team on collect and manage the latest restrictions, information and developments. We also complete a formal senior management call each week, in addition to ad-hoc calls as required, to monitor and manage the impact of COVID-19 on our customers, suppliers and our business in general.

How Cameron Supports Best Practices in Hygiene and Social Distancing

To support and encourage good hygiene practices, we supply all of our employees and sub-contractors working in our trucks and work sites with hand sanitiser, disinfectant wipes and sprays, and appropriate personal protective equipment such as face masks to use throughout their shifts.

Given it has been found that the recent rise in Coronavirus cases in Victoria has been attributed to the virus spreading in workplaces, to support a best practice approach of social distancing and interaction, we have implemented the following practices:

  • People traffic at Head Office premises have been limited to employees who hold an office pin. All visitors are required to call reception prior to being permitted to enter;
  • Overall employee numbers at a work site are monitored and managed by a Site Manager, Office Manager or authorised personnel so that numbers at any given time of the day do not exceed the maximum number of people permitted at a given work site;
  • Employee numbers within individual offices have been limited to a maximum of 2 people per office; and
  • Where such best practices are not upheld within the company, Cameron encourages its people to raise their concerns with the RMT.

If You are Suffering from Cold or Flu-like Symptoms

If employees are suffering any cold or flu-like symptoms, they have been instructed to stay at home and get medical clearance prior to returning to work, even if only feeling sick for a day or two.

All such incidents are recorded centrally with our RMT and a medical clearance must be submitted and sighted before an employee is allowed to return to their work site.

COVID-19 Business Continuity Plan

In addition, we have completed business continuity scenario planning for every Cameron work site, in conjunction with each customer, to create a clear plan of action should a site be compromised.

COVID-19 Communications

We have distributed company-wide communications on COVID-19 with practical prevention methods as set out by health authorities and all relevant communications are being directed to the RMT. Any escalation is go through the relevant State health authority.

We continue to keep abreast of the current advice and directions from both State and Federal Governments as well as the World Health Organisation.
